I received a phone call from a 'Daniel Kaufman' - direct line (312) 265-0300. We are a mortgage broker. He asked me ALL kinds of questions about how we get our leads. He could tell I was getting frustrated because 1. I didn't know what he was talking about, 2. He had submitted an inquiry online posing as a customer seeking a refi, and 3. while I was on the phone with him my sister was sending me text messages concerning a very serious health issue. They got me. I was on my computer with my internet browser window open. Suddenly I get this warning window that will NOT go away. It then starts to list about 20 trojans and worms that have "suddenly" infected my computer. I can't close the darn thing. It keeps popping up, disabling all of my other open applications. The warnings look very legitimate so I finally (in a panic because my LIFE is on my computer) order the product to remove all these apparent viruses. My debit card was charged $49.95 and guess what? Google Treasure Chest

ABSOLUTE SCAM. I checked my bank balance this morning to find a $72.21 charge. After scouring through my bills to make sure it wasn't something I incurred, I filed a fraudulent claim with my bank. I googled the info I had and came up with nothing. I then went to my mail box to see a disc from "Google Treasure Chest." I looked at the package and right away saw the "Sandy UT" address I saw online in my checking account.
