My daughter started a student savings account in 3rd grade with washington mutual. She put in $5 a week and she increased it to $10 a week. She also saved her birthday and christmas money. When she had enough money $1, oooo she bought a cd. Saved another $1000 and bought another cd which was later combined into one. She is now 15 and wanted to cash in her cd and buy buy one at our credit union.
