On 12/3/2011 my flight was Cairo ; Zurich ; Sao Paulo flight number LX 237 & LX 92 . while I am doing the boarding on SWISS AIR counter in Cairo international airport, the Cabin Crew cancelled my flight . First they asked me why I don’t have the European Visa ? I said there is no need for it, my final destination is Sao Paulo and I do have the Brazilian Visa, and I will stay only in Zurich in the transit area . they said NO you have to have the European Visa even if you go on transit .
