I have been making large over-payments on my loans through Sallie Mae's online billing (not auto-pay...do NOT use this "feature"). They give me a confirmation of payment, take the money out of my bank account, and wait for DAYS to apply it. They wait until my account is a few days "delinquent" and start right away with the harassing phone calls...even though the money has clearly been taken out of my bank account. My bet is that they hold the money in Escrow (earning interest) and CHARGE interest on my account every day... read full review »
