eBAY IS charging double on what they call "final value fees". A seller is charged an "insertion fee" for being able to list an item as an auction (one fee) and as a buy it now item (another fee). Both fees are insertion fees and make sense. The problem comes when the item is sold. It can only sell ONE way or the other. If an item sells as an auction, the final value fee is a % based on the sell price.
