My membership was frozen for unlimited duration on 3/7/10 due to pregnancy at the Cupertino facility. Today (3/27/11) when I went back to Cupertino facility to reactivate my membership, I saw my membership was only valid till July 2011. When I asked about the freeze I was told that Costco membership doesn't qualify for freeze.
