Tried to rent a car with Hertz for a day to attend a funeral. Pre booked online entered my partners name as driver and my credit card details as i don’t drive and she doesn’t have a credit card. That was the fatal mistake since in the terms and conditions it says the names have to be the same. Yet somehow even though they can’t accept payment from a card in a different name, they have no problem taking the payment off the card all the same. Presumably using the incorrect name for the card.
