Although I became unemployed I continued to make my mortgage payments. I applied for the HAMP program in May of 2010 in anticipation of a decrease in my unemployment thus difficulty in meeting my mortgage payments beginning August of 2010. I would call them at least twice a week every month, and each time was told my application was "in process".
