I bought airline tickets in Lan chile, Miami. I received my FIA statement and there was a charge of 3% of the value of my 2 tickets. I asked why, I bought them in Miami, not outside the country and there was no foreign exchange, it was paid in dollars. I said I expect it when I am abroad and I do shopping in foreign currency. Tehy insisted that this is the foreign transaction fee imposed because LAN Airlines has laiason in other countries. They charged me $ 45.00 and there was no way to reconsider the charge.
