I purchased two DroidX phones with a two year Verizon contract from online retailer Tigerdirect.com. The phones were advertised as being free. The purchase was made on March 17th 2011. I receive the phones on march 21st, and ported over my two numbers from T-Mobile and activeted the Verizon service. Two weeks later I recived a bill for $155, charging me for service activation, $60, and $90 for service. Verizon was charging me phone service for the dates I didn't even have the phones!!
