I would never, ever purchase carpeting from Empire. I purchased my carpeting five years ago and has not worn well. The quality is inferior. I called the office in New Jersey to complain after one year, and never received a call back. This is my mistake. You have to keep on top of these companies and be a nuisance until they rectify the situation. Once your carpeting is installed and your money is received, you may as well go pound sand. When I was employed, I paid Bank of America on time and 3 to 4xs the minimum monthly payment. Now, that I'm on SSDI and making one-half the amount I did while employed, I have called several times to have my interest rate lowered. My interest rate started at 7.99%, increased to 13.99% and then to 19.99%. For what, because I paid on time and made more than the minimum payment.
