As of May 1, 2011 I had a zero balance with Capital One, this was my small business credit card so it was rarely used. By mid-May I needed to do some upgrades and small investments so I made several purchases and apparently went $100 over my limit. By the next week (bear in mind, this was a week after the purchases were made, no payment was due and I wasn't even close to receiving the first statement in months) I was receiving non-stop phone calls about Capital One collecting on a debt while I was at work.
