I have a checking account with Sovereign Bank. On 06/29/2011, I asked a person who owed me $ 120 to make a deposit into my personal checking account at Sovereign Bank. I was surprised when this person called me at end of the day to confirm that transaction was done and informed me that my account had a negative balance. I never gave any permission to Sovereign Bank to share the status of my account with anyone. On 06/30/2011 at 10:30am I spoke with Sovereign branch manager, Roseli Schniederjans at 781-6853201 who confirmed me that procedure is absolutely correct.
