I issued a stop payment on an automatic debit that was originally set up to help a family member who did not have a checking account. Two months ago I called US Bank to have these transactions stopped and after going back and forth between US Bank (they told me I would have to have the institution (Wells Fargo) that was withdrawing the money stop it) and Wells Fargo (they told me US Bank would have to issue the stop payment) and several phone calls to both banks, US Bank FINALLY told me they would issue a stop payment for six months.
