I have seasonal service. Each summer Comcast starts up my service and usually by the end of August, it is mostly working - just in time to shut it off for the winter. When I call and complain, my router miraculously starts up. I will have service for somewhere between a couple of hours to maybe overnight. Enough so that if they send a technician, nothing is wrong. I had to buy my own modem because otherwise I have to spend 2 days a year waiting in line to either get another one or turn it in.
