Typically the store will print a sale flyer offering a deferred cash back coupon ("Register Rewards") with a purchase of multiple units of a given product. A frequent offer might be five 12 packs of canned soda for a price of $15, and receive a $5 deferred cash back coupon for use on a follow up visit. The sale flyer will list the eligible brands (i.e. 7-up A&W, Canada Dry). The problem lies in that Diet A&W Root Beer will ring up at the sale price, but Diet A&W Cream Soda does not.
