I had to rent a car from Enterprise Rent A Car and was told to buy "additional" insurance because I would be responsible for any damage done to the car whether or not it was my fault. The "manager trainee" also told me by taking out this insurance and if something happened to the car, my insurance company would not be notified and I would be in the free and clear.
