Flying from LAX to DFW in September costs $404 without taxes. On the same dates and same flight numbers if I land at DFW and get on a connector to Killeen Texas, the rate is $178 per ticket. Flying to DFW and getting on another plane to fly to Killeen costs less than just flying to DFW? AA says it has to do with fuel surcharges, airport fees and so forth.
