I previously was a customer of WAMU who were bought out by Chase. I was able to keep my 0% interest rate which was great. I have always paid my payments on time and paid more than the minimum. One time I missed my due date by 3 days and they automatically charged me a late fee and removed the 0% rate and jacked it up to 12%. I called and explained what happened and their reply in not so many words was "sorry, that's the way it is and we can't do anything about it - have a nice day".
