I had taken an irtel prepaid sim in April'09. The rqiired documents were submited on same time. But afer 2 months the outgoing and in coming calls were stopped and while enquiring it was told that Verification was not done. Any how Airtel issued another sim and subsequently the docs. were again submitted but after almost 1 month again it was asked to submit the docs. as previous docs. were rejected due to their own(Airtel officials) mistake.
