Railways allott middle and upper bearths to Senior Citizens, in case, lower bearths are not available, on the date of reservation. However if lower bearth falls vacant subsequently due to cancellation, the same is not allotted to such Senior Citizens due to present reservation policy and they are forced to travel in middle and upper bearths enduring hardships.
