My family has been a Verizon Wireless customer for years. Two of our phones were not working in November and December of 2005 and Verizon tried to do a software update that did not work. So at the end of December, 2005 we decided to go to Cingular. The most recent contract renewal was to expire on February 16, 2006. We wanted to keep our existing phone numbers so we transferred the numbers to Cingular. I paid Verizon the cost of service through February 16th since I was under contract to do so.
