I originally thought my manuscript just needed a grammar check, but the editor found much bigger issues with pacing and repetition. They pointed out scenes that could be shortened and characters whose motivations weren't clear enough. I liked the detailed comments because they helped me understand why certain passages weren't working. There were more revisions than I had anticipated, and at times the process felt demanding.
