I just read your complaint about the University of Phoenix and their misleading practices forcing students to go through a reentry process. I too worked with my academic counselor and they even made sure that the courses I needed to complete my degree would be transferable into the program. She was aware that I had lost my job and needed to pay out of pocket so I would need to transfer less expenses community college classes into the program.
