We applied for a mortgage with Amerisave and were terribly disappointed. First, they didn't lock the rate even though we paid for the appraisal right away per the website. We then had to pay hundreds more to get the rate we tried to lock initially. They then tried to "bait and switch" and raise the fees for that rate by yet another $1000 over what was listed on the website. We fought to get the lower advertised rate, which we finally got.
