Over the holiday my personal account was charged up to $700 in overdraft fees. Some of the fees were charged even after I had made a cash deposit. The bank told me that the checks cleared before the deposit????? M&T encourages customers to continue using their check card even after their accounts are overdrawn and then they hit you with the fees. As a former Provident Banker, that was never the case. If your account was short the transaction was declined. In these hard economic times banks are oppressing customers who are already squeezed to the limits. Charging these type of fees when we have to clothe and feed our children in unconsciable. read full review »
