I had booked a flight to California last Feb. 2009 for June 29th. For my husband and myself when I ended up in the hospital for open-heart surgery. Needless to say we couldn't go. I contacted Expedia and sent them a note from my Dr. stating why I couldn't travel. They said they could not refund me my money for the medical emergency but I would get a credit I could use up to a year from the date I purchased it. It was non transferable.
