This isn't a complaint, more of an inquiry. I am a new author, just completed my first children's book. I am unemployed (laid off after disability) and decided this "time off" would be a great opportunity to complete some things, my book being one of them. I would like some recommendations, suggestions, advice on the best way to self-publish, self-promote your book, do the major bookstores take requests from local authors to help promote?
