My husband became so ill with food poisoning at the Paradisus Varadero that he spent weeks in the hospital upon his return. He became ill on the second day of our trip, and left our room only twice after that, to visit the doctor, who told him to go lay down. He lost 10 pounds in a week and the hotel would not offer him room service or any other appropriate accommodation.
