We are a small church in Texas. In 2006 we signed on with Direct Energy for 5 year contract. In 2009 we contacted Direct Energy to terminate the contract because their rates were very high and other companies were much cheaper. Direct Energy replied and stated a fee of approximately $3, 200.00 would be charged to terminate. We terminated, sent the check, and signed with another provider.
