For the first time in 5 years I was one day late with my Chase Continental Master Card payment, I admit that it was my error, but considering they are charging outrageous interest rates and they were kept in existence by a bailout, I feel that they should be willing to waive that one $39 late fee. The representative was quite matter of fact when she said that they do not negotiate fees, I said fine, please close the account and she did so without argument.
