Due to my job, I get alot of shipments through UPS. Where I used to live, UPS had no problem leaving the packages on my front porch, and never required a signature in order to leave the packages. March of 2006, I moved roughly 3 miles from where I was living, and now UPS requires a signature to leave a package at my new residence. The problem is, I am out in the field on my job.
