I was contacted by a company, Refinance.com, who was working for GMAC Mortgage to "clean up" some of its mortgages so they could get help from the government. I was told by this company that GMAC would rewrite my mortgage to lower the percentage and pay off all my existing credit cards, even pay off my auto loan. I was not able to meet the income level so they added on my parents who were promised the same thing (pay off their credit cards).
