We took out a mortgage loan on a rental property of ours. Actually we had several with US Bank. When we decided to sell some of our properties, we went to the closing and found the bank had assessed a $13, 304 prepayment penalty on a loan of $123, 000. Now we also sold another property the same week that still held a mortgage of $73, 000 and the prepayment penalty of that loan was $250.
