I purchased a Whirlpool electric 50 gal water heater from Lowes on 16 Jul 10. After having scalding water and turning thermostat down, the limit control switch keeping turning heater off and also tripping breaker. Sticker on side of heater says do not return to Lowes; call Whirlpool. Whirlpool advised me there was too much power and to check with voltage meter. Funny previous two heaters had no problem with electricity. On 26 Jul 10, I tried to reset limit control switch. It sparked!
