August 6, 2010, the individual owners of the shop of the Trust-Mart demonstrated, in Chongqing, China, asking for the reasonable rent. These individual owners have not been paid since July 2008. Most of the individual owners live on the rent. The Trust-Mart shop was divided and sold to about 330 individual owners in the year 2004. In February 2007, Wal-Mart invested USD264 million in acquiring a 35% stake in Taiwan-based Bounteous Company Ltd., the operator of Trust-Mart in China.
