Here's one. My Providian account was acquired by Chase last year. My account had been paid off since October 2009. I had no reason to expect that I should be carrying a balance and no idea that Chase had switched me to paperless statements. Then, Chase decided to charge me an annual fee without my knowledge in February 2010. Chase failed to notify me that I had a past due amount (new annual fee) by email and phone.
