In 1996, my Mother and her new husband, both 80 years old, bought a $5000, 1 carat ring. Both have passed away and I inherited the ring. With money being tight, and the fact that I don't wear jewelry, I decided to take the ring to a jewelry store to sell it. When I did, the jewelers informed me of a big black spot in the diamond.
