I opened an account for my baby born a year ago, with Absa bank. I have received absolutely no documentation since I opened the account and so I don't even know if it was successfully opened, or whether the R500 I deposited is in it, or not. When I phoned to confirm the existence of the account with the only information I have (my ID number and my baby's) I was bounced around and told that I had to go into the branch.
