In 35 years of making car payments I am astounded to find that a company as large and supposedly reputable as Wells Fargo is so incredibly poor in their Customer Service! I lost my job in August 2008, so was 1 month behind. I called WF Cust Service, wrote down the date, name, etc. of the person I spoke with, and was told that she would put through a 1-month skip a payment forebearance.
