I sold a rental property on 11/30. The check was written to my LLC and myself. I signed for my LLC, and I signed the check. I had deposited checks with this same LLC and in this same way before. Never, ever, an issue. 12/01/10 I get an email/text from Chase stating that the traditional hold that they put on the check had been lifted. I proceeded to use my debt card and write large checks. 12/2/10 I was informed that they are returning the check because "I need to deposit that into a business account."
