I applied for a loan with Wentworth Finance. They told me I could definitely have the loan I requested and asked for a £53 upfront fee to arrange it. I gave them my card details but asked them not to take the money for a week. I recieved another call from a loan company and when I mentioned Wentworth the advisor told me to get the £53 payment cancelled as soon as possible as Wentworth were known for scamming people and that they were a broker not a loan company so could not possibly guarantee me any sort of loan.
