My 2008 Rav4 Sport had been making noises so we took it to our local Toyota dealer. The first time, they said they didn't hear anything. The second time, they said it was the motor mounts, so they were going to replace them. This was in September 2010. When they were done with the repair, they told me that Toyota recommended a new transmission, but that the car was safe to drive. The part was ordered October 1st.
