My husband was recently terminated from his job for working 3 minutes over time. On top of this, Unemployment denied us. I am 7 months pregnant, and we are high risk because we keep loosing babies. When he lost his job, he lost the insurance as well. We also have two little boys, ages 11 and 6. We did what most American's do, and applied for state aid. For the first time in our lives. In June of 2008 My husband and I moved to Florida. Our Electric company is FPL. Each billing cycle we are billed twice for amounts over $200.00. It is now (today) March 21 2009, and our power was shut off twice this month of March, only for payment amount of $156.63 cents. We couldn't understand why we were shut off because we pay every two weeks. We then 6 days after getting shut off and paying the fee's, where given another Bill for $292.96 cents.
