BB&T Bank in Fairfax, Virginia stole $10 from me for "checking account maintenance fees" after I opened a no fees account with them specifically for the reason of avoiding fees. They did this to me by switching the terms and conditions of my checking account without properly notifying me they were doing so. My account at BB&T was only worth $84.00 so this $10 "maintenance fee" amounts to a 20% assessment!! I had left the account open at BB&T since they told me I had to to keep my Safe Deposit Box there. I signed a contract with Merchant Services and per my understanding I will get a free equipment but ended up getting a 4 year contract with MBF Leasing. I specifically asked if the equipment is free since we already had a bad experience with the previous one wherein we were continually paying them over and above our agreed contract. Went to Walmart to cash State Unemployment check and Certergy declined my check which I have cashed there consistently and shopped at Walmart afterwards. I have filed a complaint with Walmart and they said this is becoming a nusiance over and over again at all locations and they are losing customers over this companies inability to communicate with people that need the service of checks being cashed.
