During the recent flooding in Houston, I used Servpro of Bellaire to help me with the flood damage. The owner, Christina is a mess. Got a coupon in the mail regarding Air Duct cleaning for $ 64.99. it is the basic cleaning with no returns cleaning. The coupon shows a big truck with the real vacuum mounted on truck. I do not think these guys have any of these trucks. They showed up @ my home with a small vacuum and compressed air hose. Not happy with the cleaning. I was employed as an independent contractor for this company. They do not pay their sales people and installers. They use inferior products. I have service on the low-end at 1Mb/s download from HugheNet. We have been complaining for weeks because, my wife, who works at home via HughesNet is being threatened with getting fired if our Internet service connection does not improve. I bought a BX-1020 last month (20 Apr) from the Altec Lansing website. After a month (21 May) had passed and I had already forgotten about it, I get a email saying it was still on 'backorder'. This company is extremely unprofressional. They came to fix a noise in my washing machine and left me with an even bigger noise. They sent the engineer out again but he said he couldn't fix it! The customer service is disgusting - when I asked if I could speak to the manager I was told that would not be possible. I contacted Minimax when I was desparate to complete my statistical analysis. Although I was told that the analysis could be completed within a two week period, I received a very basic and unprofessional type document six weeks later. At that point I had missed deadlines with my committee. Further the organization never took my calls and I was never provided basic customer service in terms of follow-up, etc. However, I did receive a courtesy call late April requesting additional money. I ordered several items from Seventh Avenue. None of them arrived damaged, but one of the big items that cost $40 to ship cracked AFTER we put it together. So in order to get a refund of $250, we'd have to pay another $40 or more to ship it back - out of pocket. Plus we'd have to take it all apart after taking two hours to put it together in the first place. Another item we purchased also did not go together well at all. The GripperStrips are horrible. The product is literately a 1/4 in. piece of gray foam with a mildly adhesive backing. I placed and order and the order was not delivered for 2 months upon receipt of the order I called to return it since it was nothing like the scent that was supposed to be duplicated. In fact it smelled like they put soap in water and called it perfume. They refused to return my money as they said that I was outside of the 30 days. This is a company who installs walls of acrylic over old bathroom tiles. Their brochure states that they jut need one day. On May 14th they installed the walls in my apartment. Within two weeks one wall bowed into the room. I was told that the man did not allow for expansion due to the heat. This was on May 30th. I was told that they could not return till July 3rd. The company damaged my filing cabinet and dining table. Even though I found the cheapest possible replacements at OfficeMax and WalMart, the company is too cheap to send $280 in compensation and instead keeps stonewalling.
