My husband spoke to someone in their office on the phone today about
purchasing 50 lbs of Abba 1600 parakeet seed. He was told he could
come between 2 and 5 pm. Because of traffic, he and my daughter
arrived at their offices at 5:04 pm, rang the bell, and were verbally
abused by someone who remained on the phone, even though that person
was aware that 2 people were outside, ringing the bell. Among the
abuse that person screamed at my family members was something to the
effect that they should have known better than to ring the bell or to
enter the building at that particular entrance, as if my family were a
troupe of mind-readers rather than customers trying to buy products.
There was absolutely no call for screaming or verbal abuse, or for an
expectation that people coming for the first time would know the
unwritten rules of entering the building. Or that having an
appointment with your firm doesn't mean one actually has an appointment
with this firm.
