I bought Account Secure, a service provided by HSBC (when you call, the reps even answer "HSBC). They are supposed to pay when I lose my job. I immediately called after I received notice of lay off. The rep told me to call again as soon as the unemployment insurance starts. I asked why...he said it is the policy. I said, well, I am supposed to call right away. He said don't worry. As soon as the unemployment insurance kicked in (there is a waiting period), I called again. I was told I WAS LATE CALLING IN. I explained and talked to another person (I think) and he looked at the computer and told me that yes, I indeed called in on time. He told me to send all the paperwork from the unemployment insurance so I did, with explanation about why they should pay my credit card. A week later, I received a letter from them telling me that they are not paying my credit cards because I was late in reporting (I explained - but just went on a loop and unheard). So I called again - again I was told I did not report on time. I am exhausted -- I had other things to worry about and here they are not paying my credit card. THESE PEOPLE ARE SCAMMERS AND SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT IT. IT IS AN INSURANCE BY H.S.B.C. BUT WHEN YOU CALL THEM THEY WILL TELL YOU THEY ARE DIFFERENT FROM HSBC BUT THEY ANSWER 'HSBC INSURANCE". I quit paying my credit card and now they sent the account to a collection agency.
