Poor service by Acer
I have purchase an Acer Laptop in Nov-2008, Model name Acer Extensa and i have been give a warranty card for 1 year and i was been informed by dealer Variety Store in Thane (W) near Alok restaurant. I was informed that if i made an extra payment of Rs 3000 i will extention in warranty to 3 years. I have paid the amount and there was stamp on my warranty card which says warranty for 3 year by manufacturer but in 2011 i went to company for the complaint with regards to laptop and its button i was informed the warranty was only for a year when i show them my warranty card they simply denies that this is a fake and there will be no service by Acer. If you want to repair and want to make any change you will have to pay for it minimum of 500.
MY PERSONAL COMMENT ON ACER PRODUCT. PLEASE JUST FORGET THEM AND DONT THINK ABOUT SUCH PRODUCTS THEY ARE FAKE

Scam Manufacturer's Warranty
Purchased Acer laptop for my son's Christmas present in December 2009.
My son complained about his computer screen. I checked to see if the warranty was still good. The manufacturer's warranty would end August 24, 2009.
I mailed the computer to their repair center on August 6, 2010. Upon receipt of computer, Acer called to say that the screen was not covered under manufacturer''s warranty. Why have a manufacturer's warranty if it doesn't cover the computer.
They said they would fix the screen for $100 and that I should have the money to them by August 12th. I just feel as though this is a scam organization and should be avoided at all costs.
Their customer service leaves alot to be desired.
Thank you, Anniejay Randall

Botched repair
I sent my Acer laptop back to Acer during the last month of the warranty as it needed a new keyboard and touchpad. When it was returned to me the keyboard would not work so I sent it straight back. When it was finally returned in January the 6 month old replacement battery refused to work. I contacted Acer and they said it must be a defective battery so I ordered a replacement.
When the battery arrived it still would not work. I did however notice at that moment that if I put pressure on the battery the charging light lit up! Then I discovered the problem. The screw holding the case together nearest to the battery connection was loose and held in with super glue! How could Acer do this?? It appears to have been over tightened and snapped inside the machine. This is causing the battery not to connect with the power. I used a wood clamp and carefully clamped the laptop and battery together, this enabled me to charge the battery. It works fine as long as the laptop is clamped! I have contacted Acer 4 times now they have finally replied and said that as the laptop is now out of warranty there is nothing they can do!!! I also have a new £100 battery I did not need to buy. I have asked for a further managerial decision but up to now I have had no reply.

It it not getting full charge. they have tried to fix it once and then it still was not getting full charge so I took it in and they switched it with another and it got full charge and now it is doing the same thing and it is making me very upset. What can I do? Please help. Thank you very much.

Order cancelled
Newegg.com offered deals on black friday 2009. Once stock is over for Acer laptops they accepted the back orders promising to send the laptops on 12/04/09. On 12/4 they sent email saying they could not send due to over whelming demand!? Did they not know even after taking all the back orders howmany orders they have and can they fulfill them??!! Atleast they should have a common sence to send emails sooner, they waited till all the deals such as cyber monday etc.. are over and sent on 12/4.
Newegg.com treats customers like junk. Keep away from this ...

Bad Customer Service
Time was back to year 2007, I bought a laptop from a bestbuy store.
I check many deals around that time to ensure that I will get a good laptop with windows vista OS since it just came out.Among circuit city, wal-mart, office depot and best buy, I found a laptop which is pretty cost-effective at best buy.
It's a Acer laptop, then I asked some simple questions to one of the salesman like where was this laptop made in, and does it have dual core cpu, however that salesman answered "Man who knows, it might be from Tailand and yes it's dual core cpu." When I told him that give me some moment to consider about it, he seems like he look down at me as if I won't buy it.His attitude is really unpolite.
I just bought this laptop upon his answers. This turned out to be a long nightmare to me.
He answered all wrong, the laptop was made in Taiwan(not important) and it's not a dual core system(really killed me, cause it run windows vista really slow without dual core cpu).
When I decide to return it, bestbuy refused my request. I found out that the laptop that I bought is a clearance product with pre-installed vista OS, but it's originally upgraded from Windows XP. No wonder why they refuse my request and this laptop runs really really slow, I can not even power up sometimes.
This complaint is not to tell you not to buy from Best Buy, but I wish Best Buy could improve their customer service and hire more knowledgable person to handle tech sales.

poor laptops
I bought an Acer laptop just to try to see how well it worked, i have had nothing but problems out of it, it got so hot it burned the serial numbers off, i called customers service because it was only a couple months old they told me to PAY for shipping (25 bucks) and ship it back to them, i got it back it didnt work, i had to PAY again for shipping, got it back again it worked for about a month and crashed, i had to PAY for shipping again, got it back and they had broke my charger, so they wanted me to pay for another by this time i was a little upset so they did finally send me a new one for free, when i got the charger they had installed all these programs on the computer, and BROKE the piece where the charger goes into, and it still gets so hot it will burn you. I had to go and buy another computer what a total WASTE!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON ACER. They have had my laptop more than i have...

Extremely unacceptable service
I bought n Acer Laptop from Sharaf DG, Bahrain on 1st March 2009.
Paid Bahraini Dinars 10 more because Sharif DG sales person claimed the price is high in their shop to compensate the technical support available with them. In 10 days time found out that the DVD drive was very very slow even to open the contents of a standard DVD. Waited in the long queue, only to be told to go to the Acer Service center called Redington. At Redington, they tried to say that I must have done something to the drive, so that they can get out of the warranty clause. Anyway, they could not win on that and I got my laptop back after 15 days! Subsequently on 5th May 2009, suddenly saw some new lines appearing on the screen! It started spreading soon. Took it to Redington, they refused to accept it stating I must have poked the screen with some sharp tool!!!
Anyway, I had no choice but to agree to pay for the replacement of the screen, which they promised to do in 10 days. Till today no one called me from the shop, and whenever I called they gave me different explanations!
Don't know where to go next!!
One thing is sure, will never look at an Acer ...
