The customer service representative gave my mother a quote to move from Altoona, PA to Minneapolis, MN for $1130 +/- some change. I placed a deposit on this quote thinking that would be the end of the deal. The night before their pick up to move they call to change the price for an additional $450. Then, the day of the move they are already moving the items when I get there. They brought a paper which had a price increase of $200 more. The mover disclosed the customer rep, again, quoted incorrectly and it was our fault for not giving him the correct information. My mother told him it was a 1 bedroom apartment and the customer rep, Mike, said not to worry about it. He said with the economy, they wanted to do business with us. The mover increased my price to $3600. I was on the phone with them, where they got down to $2500 after arguing with them. I said that's ridiculous and asked them where their business ethics are. I sent the movers back. I emailed the company the following week asking for my deposit, since they broke their quote. She said no way, because their cancellation has to be 3 days in advance of the move. How am i supposed to cancel the night before and day of the move? She hung up the phone on me. I would NEVER suggest using this company unless you want to go through a ton of crap and lose money on them. They are scam artists and will take you for what it's worth. I was lucky to have flexibility and find a new moving company. I am sure they would corner another customer into paying the ridiculous amounts!
